I'm sitting on
my bed, looking
at a fireplace.
There's a fireplace
in my living room,
and it's going.
There's a fireplace
in the sitting room
off my bedroom, and
it's going.
There's a fireplace
in the kitchen.
It's going.
There are packets
of incense everywhere,
and there are
candles everywhere.
It has ceased to be
a ritual for me.
It's just the way
my house is.
If people are
coming over,
I personally go
around and light
all the candles
that are here,
and put incense
in all the
rooms so that when
people walk into
this house,
they relate
to a feeling.
And they understand,
if they ever
come back here,
that it's always
this way.
I really like
pale pink candles.
It's not like I live
in a cave. There's
lots of light.
I have the candles
going because
I like the way
they smell.
And because
they twinkle,
you know.
