March 23, 1995 To Mr. Antonin Artaud, Legal counsel, as well as the police departments of Los Angeles, New York City, La Ville de Paris, the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States and the Bureau des Affaires Criminaux of Lyons have suggested that I write you personally. Your letter of November 20th contains a substantial and illegal threat to my well-being. As such it is within my rights to have you arrested by the police department of Ivry-sur-Seine and brought to trial. I have been informed, however, that you reside in a mental institution. This letter serves to state that any future threats made to me, my family, friends, or associates connected with Universal Studios, Incorporated, Universal Studios Florida, Incorporated, Amblin Entertainment, Incorporated, a division of Universal Pictures, Incorporated, or to SKG Dreamworks, Incorporated, as well as threats to the well-being of any film project, television project (broadcast or cable), or multimedia project (including but not limited to CD-ROM, interactive television, home shopping, and world wide web) existing under the auspices of any or all of the above entities will be met with prompt and serious action. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Steven Spielberg
