"The Dentist" appears in Mary Gaitskill's new collection of short stories, Because They Wanted To, which is being published by Simon & Schuster this winter.
Gaitskill is the author of a previous collection of stories, Bad Behavior; the novel Two Girls, Fat and Thin; and numerous stories and articles. She is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Houston. |
