Friday Dec. 14I'm babysitting for the D___'s & it's 10:00--The Scene Tonight's on but I think I'll switch it to Newsnine cuz it's more interesting & the newscasters are younger & cuter. There, I just did it. That cute guy in the middle looks so uptight. Nixon turned off all the lights except one on the national Christmas tree, & now he's making a speech about, "Christmas is not measured by the lights on a tree; Christmas is measured by the love in people's hearts..." Isn't that just nicey poo?
I just watched Miracle on 34th St it was really good. Hey!!! Yesterday these truckers all said that they didn't care about the energy crisis, they'd "keep on a-truckin'" in spite of roadblocks. Today they showed pictures of how people have slashed tires & shot windows of trucks. Good for them. I went to Lolly's and her parents came in with this other couple--a fat lady & a man with glasses, also Gus F___ & Ramon M____. They were bombed off their asses, except for Mrs. S___, who doesn't drink. Lolly had stolen a quart of Scotch from her parents' big party the night before, & we drank some of that & got drunk. Then we went downstairs & talked to Gus. First he cuddled up to Lolly & peeled her a grape, & then he cuddled up to me & peeled me one. I WISH I HAD A BOYFRIEND! Sometimes I get the worst urges! but anyway... Lolly took a cigarette from Gus & lit it & there was her mother, right there, so she hid it & ran upstairs & we smoked & read all night sort of...only until about 3:00 a.m.
