The Happiness of a Child
by Daron Murphy and Laura Perry

I crave the days of innocent fun
when simple things and I were one
when laughter was my middle name
and life was a canasta game

The first card was for happy things
The second was for puppies
The third card was for sunny days
The fourth for cows (in fields they graze)

The fifth card kept me safe at night
The sixth was my imag’n’ry friend
The seventh was a hug that’s tight
The eighth was a poem with a nice fucking ending
